A Look At How Local Restaurants Are Giving Back To Communities Affected By Natural Disasters | Kevin BrunnockWith the unfortunate recent natural disasters that have occurred, many people are suffering and in need of help. There are thousands of donation campaigns throughout the country that seek to help those who have been affected by these natural disasters. At the forefront of this cause are restaurants.

Many restaurants are donating, tips and a percentage of sales, as well as sending food to victims. Let’s take a closer look at how some restaurants are making an impact in their communities.

 

Cane Rosso Pizza

 

Cane Rosso launched a pizza raffle with all of the proceeds going towards helping people who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. Raffle participants are entered into a drawing to win an entire year of free pizza.

 

Break Of Dawn

 

Break of Dawn is collaborating with Sysco to hold a dinner to help raise money. All of the proceeds from the Meat Me in Texas Dinner will go towards helping the communities impacted by the hurricanes. Sysco is prepared to match the amount of money that the dinner raises.

 

Tacos Libertad

 

Tacos Libertad launched its Tacos for Texas campaign to help the Hurricane Harvey victims. Every month, Tacos Libertad donates a percentage of their proceeds from sales to a local charity. Tacos Libertad has donated to the Rob Benzon Foundation, Meals on Wheels, and The San Diego Food Bank, among others. Tacos Libertad plans to donate to the International Relief Teams, which help people try to recover after surviving a natural disaster by providing food and shelter.

 

Black Restaurant Group

 

The Black Restaurant Group has a number of different restaurants under their brand; including Pearl Dive Oyster Palace, Black Jack, Block Market Bistro, and Tilt Side Bar. They are offering a dollar for dollar donation match.

 

In Good Company Hospitality

 

In Good Company Hospitality are asking people to donate through drinking. Every day, there will be a special twist on a Harvey Wallbanger Cocktail, with the total sales from the beverage heading to Team Rubicon. Team Rubicon helps provide relief in communities impacted by natural disasters through bringing in veterans and first responders. In Good Company Hospitality will also throw a free beach party. The event is co-sponsored by the BLVD Project on Rockaway Beach, and will feature live games, music, and much more.

 

Bar Arma

 

Bar Arma is serving nachos for charity. Josef Centeno and the team are donating the proceeds from the sales of their nachos compuestos to the Houston Food Bank.
