New York Restaurant Review: Tre Sorelle

kevin brunnockIf you are ever walking around Tribeca, looking for a casual place to grab a bite, Tre Sorelle is an excellent option – especially during lunch. Tre Sorelle is great Italian restaurant with reasonable prices- which admittedly can be hard to find in Tribeca. As my friend and I walked in we were quickly seated, (which is always plus).

Tre Sorelle has a large bar in the middle of the restaurant with tables on either side and whole back area filled with more tables.

The atmosphere was very relaxed and everyone was extremely pleasant. Tre Sorelle offers a great variety of Italian dishes that includes; pizza, pasta, a number of éntrees and salads.

kevin brunnockWe started with a nice dry bottle of Pinot Grigio. We then ordered a four cheese pizza. Tre Sorelle’s version of Four Cheese pizza consists of a flavorful tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, parmigiano, gorgonzola and fontina cheese.

You have the option of ordering a personal pie (six slices) or a large pie (eight slices). We decided to go with the personal pie, since we were both having our own meal as well. The specials for the day are conveniently placed on the tables and I came across two interesting burger specials, just begging to be ordered. Although I was a little skeptical about ordering a burger at an Italian restaurant, I went with my initial reaction and got the Tre Sorelle Italian Burger.

It was delicious! The burger consisted of Sirloin beef with provolone cheese, caramelized onions and sweet hot cherry peppers. The meat was very flavorful and juicy, and it even came with sweet potato fries! My friend had the famous Tre Sorelle Prosciutto Bread Sandwich. This was filled with soppressata, mozzarella, roasted peppers, and drizzled with the perfect amount of olive oil. The owner was extremely kind, checking up on us throughout our meal to see if we needed anything. He also persuaded us to try “Fran’s Italian Cheesecake” and I am glad he did. It had just the perfect amount of creaminess and sweetness to it.

The perfect dessert to finish off a great experience at Tre Sorelle.  I highly recommend this lovely Italian restaurant !
