Finding Your (Sirloin) Bliss

While visiting some of the top steak houses in New York is one of my favorite things to do, there is nothing quite as satisfying as making your own beautiful steak.

World-renown chef, Gordon Ramsay, shares the secret to creating the perfect sirloin steak below!

Before You Cook

First, make sure you take the steaks out of the fridge twenty minutes before cooking. The pan must be hot and ready to go before putting the steaks on. Steaks should be seasoned with a large grain of pepper and salt.

Let the Pan do the Work

Once the steaks have absorbed the seasoning, lay those steaks directly on the pan and let the pan do the work. Make sure you have a pair of tongs handy to turn the steaks over every minute so they are cooked evenly.Once you see some color in the steaks take the fat from the sirloin steak and sear that as well. You should use the pan to your advantage, so tilt the pan so the fat side is being cooked while olive oil runs down the back of the steak.

And Finally

Next, take a few pieces of garlic and throw them in the pan, so it gives the steaks some flavor.

Lastly, cut a few pieces of butter and mix them with steaks as they cook to your liking!

Enjoy!
